Kalu Interiors was formed in 2007. For more than a decade, this Vancouver-based design firm has been known to break barriers in the industry and design award-winning spaces. Partners, Aleem Kassam and Phyllis Lui, focus on creating thoughtfully curated interiors that enhance and inspire how their clients live. While they both have very individually unique design styles and sensibilities, the pair share an undeniable passion for interior design.

It is this passion that has led them to understand the importance of personal style and space for their clients’ homes. The firm provides bespoke design services for clientele throughout Canada and the US.

Homes For The Holidays is pleased to welcome back this talented design duo whose love of the holidays is legendary. When asked what she would like for Christmas, Phyllis Lui replies, “MORE CHRISTMAS!”

A hidden gem tucked away within the historic Cecil Green Park House, the Conservatory, is the perfect spot to enjoy the beauty of the holiday season both inside and out. From the Victorian style glass ceiling to the stunning views of the garden, this room offers an abundance of natural light and character that will keep you charmed!

The word “conservatory” has always conjured images of flowers and plants as well as music. Kalu Interiors has fully embraced this duality to create a lyrical indoor garden that will simply take your breath away.

Stepping into the transformed conservatory, you first catch sight of a cascading floral feature by The Granville Island Florist that is suspended from whitewashed ceiling beams high above.

The hanging garden frames a cozy seating area below, dressed in shades of white, cream, and textured fabrics from CF Interiors. Your gaze returns to the draping florals, this time catching a glimpse of twinkling fairy lights that cast a warm glow on this intimate setting.

Nestled in a corner, a picturesque Christmas tree, looks out into the gardens. Dainty white and gold accents from GARDENWORKS are tucked among its branches and throughout the thoughtfully curated space. The magical experience hits a high note when a white baby grand piano is revealed. Beautiful holiday melodies fill the dreamy space as guests conclude their visit. The Conservatory may be the last room on your mansion tour, but it certainly will not be the least. Lasting impression guaranteed!
